InfoGin Signs the Developer Manifesto for Responsible Reformatting

The market leader in Web to mobile content & functionality adaptation solutions officially joins the mobile ecosystem

5/21/2008
Kfar Saba, Israel, May 21, 2008 – InfoGin, a leading pioneer in the field of Web-to-mobile content and functionality adaptation solutions today announces it has signed the Developer Manifesto for Responsible Reformatting, authored by Luca Passani. This document provides the principles that enable content adaptation vendors such as InfoGin to detect mobile aware sites and handle requests in a transparent manner. InfoGin, as part of the mobile ecosystem, complies with the Manifesto guidelines. With its Intelligent Mobile Platform™ (IMP™) technology, sites are requested with the original device’s user agent, thus enabling mobile aware sites to return the mobile version instead of the Web version. The returned site is identified as either Web or Mobile according to the guidelines of the Manifesto and InfoGin’s unique algorithms.

In addition, InfoGin’s platform conforms to the Manifesto guidelines by including features for handling a mobile page without any reformatting while still enabling the operators to include their mobile branded header and footer as well as the navigation toolbars in the page.

Eran Wyler, CEO & Founder, InfoGin commented: “InfoGin has invested more than eight years of research and development to ensure that mobile users today can enjoy browsing the Web as well as mobile content with the best user experience. By complying with the Developer Rules for Responsible Reformatting, InfoGin’s technology ensures that the correct configuration is always in place and mobile operators can guarantee their subscribers and the content community the best of both worlds”.

Luca Passani, editor, the Developer Manifesto said: “I was really pleased to see that InfoGin endorsed the rules in the Manifesto and signed it. This is warmly appreciated by the developer community."
